The newly appointed Minister of Healthcare Oleg Musiy  has declared refusal from using shadow  and corruption schemes.

The Minister has a clear position :  “ Now any corrupt activities with the licensing documents in the Ministry of Health is canceled.  Moreover,  there will not be any person in the Ministry, responsible for such schemes. If someone tells you that someone needs money for something, please,  report me, we will take action. If someone doesn’t like such non-corrupt system, let him write a letter of resignation right now” - said  Oleg Musiy on Friday during a meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Health.

At the initiative of the Ukrainian Association of Medical Tourism (UAMT) the Social Council under the Ministry of Health of Ukraine established the Commission on the development of medical tourism. The objective of the Commission is promoting sustainable development of Health of Ukraine and facilitating access of patients to the achievements of world medicine.

 At the first meeting of the working group of the newly formed committee were discussed key issues of medical tourism in Ukraine, the main challenges and solutions, was approved development plan for 2014.

Establishment of the Commission and the national association suggests the emergence of one more perspective branch of Ukraine's economy and the high potential of  this direction.

The Vice Minister of Health of  Lithuania Republic Jadwiga Zinkyavichyute visited Ukraine.

The main purpose of the official visit was participation in the celebrations in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Nicholas Amosov birth, which took place on  December, 6.

Being in Kiev,  Ms. Zinkyavichyute also visited the inpatient wards of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery named after M. Amosov, Heart Institute and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. At the visit she acquainted with clinical practice and talked with the staff and patients of medical institutions.

Public Council under the Ministry of Health of Ukraine is elected permanent joint public advisory and monitoring body.

Public Council was created to ensure the active participation of citizens in public affairs, cooperation between the Ministry of Health and civil society institutions on the principles of good partnership, the implementation of public control over the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, paying attention to the public opinion in the formation and implementation of public health policies.
